Library Contest Captures Students Love for Reading
We love literature at Oakridge and last summer the Library sponsored a #GetCaughtReading contest to celebrate the joys of what and where we read. Students and staff were challenged to take creative and inspiring pictures of themselves enjoying great books, playbills, maps, magazines, graphic novels and everything else we consumed while on vacation.
Pictures included students reading on hammocks, horses, beaches, airplanes - to pets and in backyards. Oakridge Owls read at the Library of Congress, Parisian cafes, Roman monuments and Icelandic lagoons.
Prizes were awarded to our enthusiastic bibliophiles.
What are you reading currently or planning to read during spring break? We'd love to know! Send us a photo and caption to firstname.lastname@example.org or let us know if you'd like to write for our school's blog.
