Summer Camps 2020

All Summer Camps will take place at the Early Childhood Center from 9:00AM – 3:30PM daily at a cost of $195 per week.

The weekly camp letter and schedule goes home with campers on Mondays. A campus map is available here.

BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS

WEEK #1: JUNE 8- 12 “SUPERHEROES"

It’s Superhero Week at Oakridge Summer Camp! Join us for super reads about your favorite Marvel and DC characters, Dog Man and the Princess in Black! There will be surprise guests, trivia and heroic tales in the Oakridge library. We’ll show off our super powers at Alley Cats and enjoy a visit from the amazing “bubble lady”. 

WEEK #2: JUNE 15 - 19 “TEXAS BLUEBONNET BOOKS”

Come to camp this week and celebrate Texas Bluebonnet Award books! Campers who read five nominated books will earn a prize and vote for their favorite Bluebonnet book. Join us for STEM crafts, story time in the library, and game day. We will enjoy an interactive drum show with the incredibly talented, “Baba” and get close up with a mini exotic zoo. 

WEEK #3: JUNE 22 - 26 “DAN GUTMAN WEEK”

This is one hilarious and popular author! At camp this week, we will be wildly entertained by his Mission Impossible and My Weird School series. An exciting juggler will mesmerize us and a trip to Pump It Up will certainly be a fun way to close out this week. 

WEEK #4: June 29 -  July 3 “LIBERTY KIDS”

Get ready to wave the red, white, and blue and join The Liberty Kids this week of camp. We will publish “The Liberty News” each day creating articles about famous patriots, historical events, and personal reflections. This exciting week will also feature an old fashioned, all American picnic and parade. 

WEEK #5: JULY 6 - 10 “MYSTERIES”

Whodunit? Camp this week will celebrate the mystery genre as we read about real and fictional puzzles. From Nancy Drew to the Babysitters Club – Alcatraz to The Bermuda Triangle – we will sleuth our way through the week! A visit to Sea Quest Aquarium and a spectacular puppeteer will round out this fun-filled week. 

WEEK #6: JULY 13 - 17 “DIARY BOOKS”

Do you like funny books? Diaries? Graphic novels? Join us this week for engaging activities and read alouds from Dork Diaries, Diary of a Pug, Wimpy Kid, and Unicorn Diaries. We will enjoy a performance from “The Bookworm” and relax in the lazy river at Randol Mill Aquatic Park.
