Oakridge student artists were recently recognized at the Texas Visual Arts Association High School Art Competition.
Seniors Syd Fagan and Taylor Alexander and sophomore Megan Marr all had works accepted in the exhibition, which was no small feat. Only 136 artworks were accepted into the exhibition of the 1,285 submitted.
Taylor and Syd then received awards for their works, comprising three out of the 28 awards in total that were given out. Taylor received the Dr. Jacob L. Kay Memorial Award for Photography, and Syd received a Dennis M. Kratz Dean's Award for one of her sculptures as well as the TVAA-Gordon B. Norris Scholarship Award for another of her sculptures.
Congratulations to these talented artists!
