The Oakridge School has been named a 2018 winner of the Side-Out Foundation’s national Dig Pink® movement, which raises money for stage IV breast cancer research. The 2018 installment of Dig Pink® featured more than 750 campaigns and raised more than $1.2 million. Oakridge's contribution totaled nearly $17,500.

In all, five winners were named for each raising more than $10,000 last year. They include:

  1. Randolph High School (Randolph, MN)
  2. Riverside High School (Leesburg, VA)
  3. The Oakridge School (Arlington, TX)
  4. Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart (Miami, FL)
  5. Massapequa High School (Massapequa, NY)

The top fundraising team will receive its own set of Dig Pink® safety pads, courtesy of Sports Imports. A Dig Pink® net tape will be sent to the next four fundraising teams. Read more at

Through Dig Pink®, the Side-Out Foundation hopes that young athletes learn the value and importance of giving back to the community, working as a team, and taking initiative to get involved. Oakridge’s Pink Out was led by the Volleyball team and had as its theme: “Love Pink Bleed Blue.” Events such as bake sales, a balloon release, and t-shirt sales were held in conjunction with volleyball, field hockey, and football games throughout October 2018. All of the proceeds benefitted the Side-Out Foundation.

Congratulations to the Oakridge volleyball team and Coach June Boller on a job well-done!
