All upper school students must satisfy a community service requirement to graduate. Students annually receive a list of pre-approved community service opportunities and may have other agencies approved on an individual basis.
Each year all Upper School participates in a metroplex-wide Community Service Day. Students offer their service to area organizations to demonstrate our dedication to cultivating social responsibility, mutual respect, and personal integrity.
This year Oakridge students spent the day at eight locations throughout the greater DFW area. This year involved donating over 13,000 canned goods, delivering cash donations, preparing 3,900 turkeys, painting community facilities, teaching children, repairing bikes, and delivering trees. Great demonstrations of the real life leadership our students are experiencing.
