Summer Camp General Information

Age range Summer Camp is for children age 3 – grade 4. Oakridge students and non-Oakridge children are welcome to participate in our Summer Camps. Campers are arranged in age appropriate groups for the week of camp.

Attendance Summer Programs at Oakridge are open to students from any school. Refunds and prorated fees are not made if a child is absent during the week they are registered for summer camp. No refund will be given for an enrolled student that does not show up for Summer Camp without communication before camp begins.

 

Camp Descriptions Each week of Summer Camp has a theme. Schedules and letters explaining the theme and activities for the week will be sent home on Mondays via camper.  

 

Conduct All Summer Programs participants are expected to behave in an honorable, trustworthy, and respectful manner and speech at all times. Participants will be respectful of persons in authority and the rights of others, and exercise proper care in the use of materials and equipment. Inappropriate behavior or conduct not in accordance with these expectations can jeopardize a participant's privilege of attending Summer Programs at Oakridge.

 

Daily Schedule Summer Camp is held Monday – Friday from 9:00AM – 3:30PM. Each cabin will complete similar age appropriate activities throughout the week. Those activities are: all camp meetings, cabin activities like skits and crafts, walk about field trips to the nature area and National Wetlands on campus, presentation of cabin activity at all camp gathering, snack, lunch, rest period, guest speakers, field trips, water play on campus for PS-K and swim at Mrs. G's for gr. 1-4, theme movie, games, competitions, science experiments, S.T.E.M activities, themed dress up days and talent show to name a few. 

 

Drop-off/Pick-up

  • Beginning at 8:50AM, you may drop off campers at the Oakridge Early Childhood Center via the carpool line. Campers can be picked up in the afternoon via carpool line when camp is over at 3:30PM.
  • For campers taking part in morning or afternoon Extended Care, we request that parents walk their children inside the Early Childhood Center building each day as well as come inside to pick them up. Enrollment in Oakridge Extended Care is available to campers enrolled in Summer Camp at The Early Childhood Center from 8:00AM – 8:50AM before camp and after camp from 3:30PM -5:30PM.

 

Equipment needs Campers are responsible for bringing a swimsuit and a towel on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please mark camper's name on loose items. All other necessary materials will be provided by the camp staff. Each camper will recieve a Summer Programs at Oakridge t-shirt at the beginning of their first week of camp to be worn when leaving campus for field trips. 

 

Extended Care It is our pleasure to provide child care before and/or after summer camp. Please call the Summer Camp Extended Care Coordinator, Kari Derrick at 817-451-4994 ext. 2715 if you have questions.

  • Morning Extended Care 8:00AM – 9:00AM $20/week
  • Afternoon Extended Care 3:30PM – 5:30PM $30/week

            Summer Camp Extended Care must be paid in full on or before the first day of that week’s camp.  Please make all checks payable to Summer Programs at Oakridge. At this time, credit card payment is only available to those who register online. We apologize for any inconvenience. 

 

 

Location

Summer Camp takes place at the Early Childhood Center.

 

Lunch/Snacks Summer Camp children need to bring a sack lunch and a drink each day. Lunches will not be refrigerated or microwaved, so please pack accordingly. Snacks will be provided to campers in the morning and afternoon each day. 

 

Minimum Enrollment: It is necessary to have at least 5 full time students paid in full for Summer Camp to take place.  

Payment: All programs must be paid in full before the first day of the program. Otherwise, the participant can not participate in the program until paid in full.

 

Price

One week of Summer Camp is $195. Registration can be done for any number of weeks 1-6. 

 

Refunds A $25 deposit (per program) is required at registration to hold a space for an individual in the program. The last day of school in May is the deadline to receive a full refund on any pre-registered summer program an individual is wishing to cancel. After the last day of school and before the program begins, there is a $25 non-refundable deposit required per class. The $25 non-refundable deposit of a canceled program will not be applied to the remaining summer balance owed when canceled by the registrant. Once the program begins, there will be no refund. Full refunds will be given if a program is canceled by The Oakridge School. Parents can add programs to an individual account, however, only the Director of Summer Programs can drop/delete a program once a registration has been submitted.  No refund will be given for an enrolled student that does not show up for Summer Camp without communication before camp begins.

 

Staff The Summer Camp staff is carefully selected and highly qualified. Energetic and enthusiastic individuals are chosen to be counselors. Many involved are Oakridge graduates! Each member of the staff is dedicated to making this summer one of your child’s best!

 

What to wear

  • The dress code for Summer Camp is appropriate shorts, t-shirt, tennis shoes and socks.
  • A camp t-shirt will be provided to each student enrolled in Summer Camp. We ask that the Summer Camp t-shirt be worn on the days we leave the Oakridge campus for field trips.
