Parents and students,
As we enter the final two weeks of the first semester, I wish to thank you for the work you have done, and continue to do, to raise wonderful young men and women. We have the privilege of spending much time with them and they represent your families and the school very well. A few tips for exam preparation are in order. 1) Arrive on exam days at least 15 minutes before they begin. Starting an exam after running to class creates anxiety and detracts from student success. 2) Begin the exam preparation process early. Five one-hour study sessions is better than one five-hour session the night before. 3) Cramming for a test has marginal returns. A student caught up on sleep with good eating habits is optimal. 4) Review material from the entire semester and pay attention to teacher feedback on formative and summative assessments.
Go Owls!

PROGRESS REPORT 2.2: You may access your child’s 2.2 Progress Report on your parent portal. This is the final progress report before our semester exams. The semester 1 report card will be posted on Friday, January 10. As a reminder, the 1st and 2nd Report grades are 75% of the semester grade. The exam counts for 25% of the semester grade. Semester grades are the only grades used to calculate a student’s cumulative grade point average and are the only grades that appear on the transcript. Course credit is awarded if the average of the two semester grades is a C- or higher.
