“Civility means a great deal more than just being nice to one another. It is complex and encompasses learning how to connect successfully and live well with others, developing thoughtfulness, and fostering effective self-expression and communication. Civility includes courtesy, politeness, mutual respect, fairness, good manners, as well as a matter of good health.”
– Pier Massimo Forni
Parents and students,
There is much divisiveness in our society today. Even though we all have our unique beliefs, I am grateful that Oakridge is a place to recognize, discuss, and celebrate our differences. At the same time, we share so many qualities that we want to instill in our children; integrity, respect, responsibility, kindness, and critical thinking among many. As we approach election day, let’s keep these thoughts in mind as we converse with our children, families, co-workers, friends, and total strangers. It is always better to be a little kinder than necessary.

SPC CHAMPIONSHIPS IN DALLAS- NOVEMBER 7-9- Oakridge Field Hockey, Cross Country, and Volleyball teams play in the SPC Tournament this Thursday-Saturday in Dallas. The teams welcome our student support! A student needs to consider what class is being missed, and his/her grades in that class, if wanting to attend the games. All students (with the exception of our teams) need to have a phone call or email to Mrs. Blake giving parental permission to leave school to attend. In addition, students must sign out in the office before leaving. If a student rides with another student, Mrs. Blake needs specific permission from a parent. Go Owls!
