Dear Upper School Parents,

“I am thankful for today’s little moments … because they are tomorrow’s precious memories." - Grandparents’/Grandfriends’ Day 2022

In this email:

  • Checkpoint Grades 2.2
  • Turkey Toss | Thanksgiving Break
  • Make up picture day
  • Upcoming Dates/Parent Reminders
  • December calendar and exam schedule

As you read this, we hope you are off to a great start to the break! The Oakridge School will observe Thanksgiving Holiday the week of November 21 - 25. Classes resume Monday, November 28, as a scheduled A Day for Upper School students. Take advantage of the time off from school to engage in conversation with your child about goals, ending the semester strong, the positives of this first semester, and where more support may be needed.

Checkpoint Grade 2.2 was posted on Wednesday. This is a great snapshot of how your child is standing heading into final exams. You may access grades on your My Backpack portal by clicking “Marking Period Grades and Comments.”

Monday, November 21 is the Annual Turkey Toss at Mission Arlington. Students and families may join us at Mission Arlington between 9-11 AM. The Oakridge School plays a crucial role as we unload the frozen turkeys so they will thaw in time for Thanksgiving. We welcome students of all ages, families, friends, and alumni. Students receive community service hours for this event. Bring gloves and wear your favorite Oakridge spirit wear!

Glamourcraft will be on campus Wednesday, November 30, for make-Up pictures and to photograph new students for student IDs and yearbook photos starting at 8:30 AM in the FAPH foyer.

PARENTS HELP US REMINDERS:

  • Please follow our security procedures for parents on campus, students arriving late, students needing to leave campus early, and student drivers. Parents must check in at the front desk, and students must check in at the US office.
  • Parents need to notify the US office when a student will be absent for a day. Students need to notify their teachers.
  • The Oakridge School has a closed campus for lunch. This is for your child’s safety and plays an important role in our safety and emergency plans. While we understand that your child needs to be checked out occasionally for appointments, please do not allow your child to be checked out for lunch.

Parent Remind Hoot please join now. This is a great way to receive updates and reminders.

The Oakridge School calendar: save the dates of all these important events.
