Dear Oakridge Family,
I had the distinct pleasure of watching two performances (watching the first full dress rehearsal in addition to opening night) this week of our fall play, Clue. Last year, Mr. DeBorde told me this would be our fall production, and I could not have been more excited. Clue was one of my favorite movies growing up, and I played the board game often with my family. As I watched each performance, I was awestruck at the performance ability of our students. I saw students on stage who came alive in a way you don’t see every day. Some of them are quite reserved in an everyday setting. But, watching their performance, you could never tell. Watching our talented cast and crew reminds us of the dedication and skill our students apply on the stage and in the classroom. Their ability to embrace complex roles, collaborate closely, and bring creativity to every scene reflects the critical thinking, adaptability, and teamwork we strive to foster here at Oakridge. This play is yet another example of our student’s commitment to excellence and their joy in exploring all aspects of their potential.
By bringing characters to life on stage, each student demonstrated the critical thinking and creative spirit we hope to instill in every Oakridge student. Moreover, the dedication and teamwork required to bring Clue to the stage reflected their ability to work collaboratively, and their success is a testament to the supportive and dynamic learning environment we aim to create here.
Adding to the play’s magic is the complex, detailed set—built entirely by our students. Their creativity and skill transformed the stage into a fully immersive experience that showcases the high standards of craftsmanship and design that match their academic dedication. The intricate set is a testament to their ingenuity, technical expertise, and teamwork—skills they carry into every aspect of their lives here at Oakridge, both on and off the stage.
This production of Clue is more than just a play; it’s a celebration of our students’ versatility, as many of the cast and crew are not only actors but also committed scholars and student-athletes. They remind us of the joy and growth that come from exploring all dimensions of their potential.
Join us for one of the remaining performances and experience the remarkable talents of our Oakridge students in action!
Warm regards,
