What is "E-Newsletter"? Every Friday, the Oakridge Leadership Team sends a weekly newsletter. This newsletter opens with an update from Matt Burgy, Head of School. Each division head update follows his message. You may read the whole thing or parts, but we highly encourage you to read your child's division. Important information concerning the week(s) ahead for your child is included, and we want you to be informed and prepared by reading our email each week.
SENIOR PERMISSIONS As a senior privilege in Upper School, students in the class of 2024 may arrive at school after the first block (by 10 AM) of the day if they have a study hall that period or may depart early after the third block of the day if they have a study hall the last block of the day. This privilege requires parent permission; click here to complete the parent permission form. Students must sign in when arriving and sign out before departing each day.
Join us in welcoming Candace Halbert-Blake to the Upper School Team. Please email the Upper School office by using her contact: chalbert@theoakridgeschool.org.
Hello All! My name is Candace Halbert-Blake. You may call me Mrs. Blake, and I am the new Administrative Assistant for the Upper School.
I have been the assistant director at The Children's Courtyard for the last eight years. I have worked with ages as young as six weeks to 13 years. While this will be a transition, I am very excited about this new opportunity.
Here are a few things about myself. I have been with my husband for 11 years, and we have the two most wonderful boys, Hunter-10 yrs and Tatum- 10 months. On the weekends, you can find me at the baseball fields cheering on my oldest. I am very easy going and always happy.
I am so excited to be here and look forward to getting to know every student and parent as the year progresses.
Dress Code- You can access all dress code guidelines in the complete Student Handbook (page 53). Thank you for helping us with the dress code as your child prepares for school or school-related events. We do have a supply of skirts/pants/belts that your child may have to use for the day if he/she does not come to school appropriately dressed. Of course, you may bring clothes to school for your child as an alternative.
The Oakridge School will observe Labor Day on Monday, September 4. There are no classes or campus access on this day.
JR Parent meeting with College Advising is this coming Tuesday, Sept 5, from 6-7 PM in the Library.
