Dear Oakridge Family,

Last week, I had the privilege of attending a performance by our 3rd and 4th grade students in advance of our busy week celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday. “Wow!” doesn’t even encompass the feeling I had as our students stood on stage, performing a medley of patriotic songs. Not only were they perfectly choreographed, and their pitch was spot on, but their confidence showed through as they presented the many aspects of how grateful we should be for our Veterans as we celebrated Veteran’s Day. I am the son of a veteran, a kind hearted Air Force Colonel that taught me the importance of honor, duty, and service. I am the grandson of a Distinguished Service Cross recipient, whose life was cut short far too soon by his brave acts. Daily, I am grateful for their selfless service and all those others that have served, for it is because of their commitment that we share the freedoms we have today.

As we enter this Holiday season, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for this wonderful school community, and your support. Thank you for choosing me to serve this wonderful community. Everyday presents its own sense of magic (and some challenges!) at this special place. Thank you for supporting our school, not just with your wealth, but with your work and your wisdom. It is often said that “it takes a village” to raise children, and this community comes out in a true sense of togetherness to accomplish this. I am grateful for your partnership, and entrusting us with the noble work of helping your children grow into the best version of themselves. Living into our mission of challenging and nurturing children into seeking their full potential is a daily joy for us, and we are grateful that you choose us to achieve that goal.

I hope you and your family are able to spend the next week with one another, expressing our gratitude for the many great things we do for each other every day. A very Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

Go Owls!
