Dear Oakridge Family,
This week, our entire faculty and staff returned to campus for “Pre-Planning.” We have spent the week preparing for the school year, becoming ingrained in new policies and procedures, implementing new safety measures, and inculcating 17 new Faculty and Staff members into the Oakridge Family. It has been a whirlwind of events, and we’re getting geared up to have everyone back on campus soon!
Last week, I mentioned a few staffing changes over the summer, and I’m excited to announce a few more. Lori Lane, who has faithfully served Oakridge as a Science teacher and Assistant Head of Middle School, will be taking on a new role this year as our Director of Student Life for Grades 5-12. While Mrs. Lane will still serve our Middle School students, she will expand her role to oversee all students in Grades 5-12, specifically focusing on oversight of behavior management in conjunction with our Grade Level Deans. Our Deans, Christian Hunter, Daniel Jamieson, Elissa Eggleston, Brian Farda, Paulo Dasilva, Lindsey Lane, Bennett Mitchell, and Chris Renshaw, will oversee each grade level on the micro-level, ensuring that a system of communication is set up between faculty, parents, and students when it comes to grade level questions and concerns. Our goal is to create a closer community within each grade level, focusing on the unique nature of the stages of development at each grade level.
We are only a few short hours away from our Back-To-School Bash and only a few short days away from our start of school! We are looking forward to seeing you all soon!
Warmly,
Matt Burgy
Head of School
