Dear Oakridge Family,

We will celebrate our 45th year with our annual Super Supper and Auction at River Ranch in Fort Worth tomorrow night. Nights like these are special, not just because they fuel the educational fire we aspire to kindle in your children. It is a time to build community, to see old friends, and to make new ones. It is an opportunity to unite to support one another, give to our school, and have fun doing it! This year's theme, "The Greatest School," has a special meaning. The idea came from the musical The Greatest Showman, starring Hugh Jackman about the life of P.T. Barnum and the development of the circus (which, at times, has great parallels to school life!). If you have not seen it, you should, especially if you are joining us tomorrow night. The music in the show is electric, and its lyrics could not be more applicable to school life at Oakridge. Throughout the musical, the cast sings about achieving their dreams. "A million dreams are keeping me awake. I think of what the world could be, a vision of the one I see. A million dreams is all it's gonna take. A million dreams for the world we're gonna make." As I watched, I couldn't help but think that this is what we are doing every day. You hear me refer to the mission often, and when you boil it down, our mission is really about creating a space for children not just to dream but to be challenged and nurtured toward fulfilling them. We are lucky that we get a front-row seat to watch that happen; whether it is in a classroom, on a field, or our stage, we get to see "The Greatest School" come alive through the eyes of our children. Thank you for making these dreams possible.

I am grateful for the work of so many of you who have put forth the effort to organize "The Greatest School," especially Kari Sargent and Kierschen Tucker, for their unrelenting work in putting together this magical evening. In the immortal words of P.T. Barnum, "Come one! Come all! Come in! Come on!"

Warmly,

Matt Burgy
