Dear Oakridge Family,

As you know, we've started "Re-Enrollment Season" at Oakridge. This year is different in that we are in the process of upgrading our Student Information System, which will be an exciting change! You will no longer be accessing your enrollment agreement through "My Backpack" but instead will access the new agreement through a personalized link sent to your email. If you are having trouble, please get in touch with our technology department. As a reminder, the re-enrollment deadline is January 31, 2024.

If you are new to an independent school, the re-enrollment process is different. Even if you've been here for a while, you might wonder "why" we conduct this during this time of the year. In simple terms, an independent school like ours relies on enrollment as the guiding force behind the following school year's budget. The number of students we expect determines the number of faculty and staff to deliver the desired program. Unlike the corporate world, which many of us are accustomed to serving in, school faculty and staff work on one-year agreements. Those agreements are distributed to faculty and staff beginning in March for the following school year. This allows the school to retain our amazing faculty and staff from year to year and do so in a way that honors their ability to expect what the following year will look like for them. Simply put, re-enrollment occurs during this time of the school year well before the next school year so we can appropriately plan for the next school year.

Putting aside the "nuts and bolts" of re-enrollment, the value of an Oakridge experience is exceptional. Our school has received national recognition and consistently maintained high academic standards, ensuring all students receive a top-tier education. Our curriculum is designed to challenge and nurture students, preparing them for their future endeavors in a way that very few places I have seen can. This can only be accomplished by retaining and recruiting talented faculty committed to knowing and revering your child. The work that they do goes beyond just what is in a textbook. It extends to deeply understanding who your child is and what they aspire to become. Over the years, our graduates have gone on to accomplish remarkable lives. I hear, almost daily, of an alum who referenced the "Oakridge Difference" in how well prepared they were for the next step of their lives. The accomplishments of those alums are a testament to the quality of their experience here. It is an investment that pays exceptional dividends in your child's development.

Warmly,

Matt Burgy
