Sept. 23, 2022

Dear Oakridge Family,

Thank you for your outstanding support on North Texas Giving Day for our Oakridge Fund! With your generosity, we have raised over $225,000 towards our goal. Due to our efforts during the 1 PM to 3 PM period, we were awarded an additional grant from the Arlington Tomorrow Fund for $5,000! We narrowly missed (less than 40 votes) receiving the school People’s Choice Award, which was awarded to The University of Texas at Arlington. Think about that for a moment; we nearly outvoted a school with massive amounts of public funding and over 48,000 students. It is a reminder of the incredible power that the collective of this wonderful community can do when we build something together. To say that I am overwhelmed with gratitude is an understatement. Your gifts are deeply appreciated and will be utilized to ensure that our student experience is transformative. If you missed the event yesterday, you can still donate by making your gift online at https://www.theoakridgeschool.org/giving/makeagift.

I would be remiss if I did not take the time to thank our faculty and staff for their efforts in giving to The Oakridge Fund. 100% of our faculty and staff gave to The Oakridge Fund, even before North Texas Giving Day began. In addition, as a group, the faculty and staff increased their giving from last year by almost 40%. Their dedication to our students in time and talent is exceptional, and their commitment to Oakridge through the gifts of their treasure is awe-inspiring.

As a reminder, next Friday, September 30, is an Early Dismissal Day, as our faculty and staff will immerse in professional development. Therefore, our dismissal schedule is as follows for September 30:

ECC: 11:30 AM

Lower School: 11:30 AM

Middle School: 11:45 AM

Upper School: 12:00 PM

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Go Owls!
