Greetings, Middle School Families, 

We are truly exploring the great outdoors in Middle School again this week. Our sixth graders had the opportunity to travel to Camp Grady Spruce at Possum Kingdom Lake, and we had an amazing time.

The students and teachers were up early Thursday morning and ready to depart at 6:00 a.m. for our 2.5 hour drive to the campsite. The excitement, laughter, and choral singing were the highlight of our morning bus ride to our beautiful destination. 

Once we arrived, the students were divided into groups and attended camp orientation, and without reservation, they were all up for the challenging activities planned throughout the day. The activities included team building, a boat trip, and a lesson on survival skills. The students left Camp Grady Spruce with cherished memories for a lifetime.

Student Council members have been active this week. Students drafted proposals submitted to be reviewed by the Head of Middle School, the Director of Student Life, and the grade-level Deans. Students then scheduled to present the specified request on behalf of the student body. We are so proud of the advocacy and leadership skills  being developed in the Middle School at Oakridge. 

Finally, we look forward to wearing our fall colors and enjoying the delectable sweets at our Middle School Dessert party on October 31, hosted by OPC.
