Greetings, Middle School Families, 

It was all about the great outdoors this week as our 5th graders experienced their first class trip in Middle School. As we endeavor to align with our strategic plan, we encourage health and wellness during the adolescent period. Studies have shown that spending time outdoors, especially in green spaces, has physical and psychological benefits.  

We started our day bright and early at 7:00 am and traveled to Trinity Forest Adventure Park located in Dallas. On the bus ride to the park, it was refreshing to see students socializing, laughing, and interacting with their peers and teachers. 

Once we arrived, students were divided into groups and completed a series of four activities which included team building, rock climbing, the adventure park, and free play. The students were so courageous, encouraged one another, and worked as teams to accomplish different tasks. However, the highlight of the trip was ziplining through the breathtaking adventure park and experiencing nature at its finest. To say that we had a blast is an understatement.
