Greetings, Middle School Families, 

This week we had an amazing time celebrating our Oakridge Middle School staff and teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week. We enjoyed showering them with sweet treats, breakfast, Sonic drinks, and simply saying “thank you.” Over the last ten months, I’ve watched in awe as teachers arrive early and leave late. Some take mounds of papers home to grade, while others volunteer to serve as sponsors for activities expecting nothing in return. I’ve watched as they’ve eagerly adjusted their lesson plans to make learning more fun and engaging. I’ve sat next to them at games, plays, and concerts, totally surprised because I knew they were exhausted. But yet and still, they showed up because they did not want to break a promise. Oakridge is an AMAZING school with even more AMAZING teachers, and we are truly grateful for their dedication and commitment to the field of education. 

Semester Exam Week- Semester exam week is May 20-24. Exams will be given Monday - Thursday, with Friday reserved for make-up exams. Students do not need to come to school on Friday if they have completed all of their exams. Each day, students are dismissed after their exams to prepare for the remaining exams. There are no classes during this week, only exam sessions. Your child does not need to be at school if they do not have an exam during the scheduled time. The Parents’ Club will provide students with a snack between exams on Tuesday and Wednesday. Please review the following link for dates and times of exams- MS Semester Exam Schedule.   

After School Care and Pick Up During Exam Week- During exam week, unless riding the bus or using Clayton Childcare, all Middle School students should be picked up following their last exam. The library will not be available after school. Clayton Childcare is available for 5th and 6th grade students if extended care is needed. If you plan to use Clayton, you must be registered. Please have your child bring a sack lunch if they are planning to stay. There will be supervision for bus riders if their exam is finished at 10:00 a.m. Buses will leave at 12:15 p.m. each day.
