Britt Robinson, Assistant Head of School for Teaching and Learning, Head of Middle School

March 10, 2023

Spring Break always seems to arrive at just the right time… the weather is starting to warm up, homework and project loads are piling up, and students, parents, faculty, and staff are grateful for a recharge and a break from the daily schedule. Over the next week, I hope that all Owls can spend quality family time together doing things that bring happiness and joy. We look forward to seeing everyone back on campus on Tuesday, March 21, for a “B” day.

Each week, I include questions that have been asked, or that may be helpful to you in our weekly communication. In addition, if you have a question that you feel might be helpful for other parents in the Middle School that you would like considered for our weekly communication, please email your questions to me at brobinson@theoakridgeschool.org

1. Should a student’s school email account be used for social purposes?

School email accounts should only be used for class-related content. Students should not use their school email to “chat” with friends or send non-school related pictures or content.

2. What is the Middle School policy for wearing AirPods or headphones during the school day?

Students are encouraged to bring headphones or Airpods to class for private listening when given permission. Students should not wear Airpods or headphones outside of the classroom without specific permission. Airpods can be very difficult to locate or identify ownership if misplaced. It is the responsibility of the student to keep up with these items.

As always, please email me if you have additional questions.

Kind regards,

Britt
