Sarah Schecter, Head of Lower School
October 25, 2024
Dear Lower School Parents,
It was great to have such great attendance at OwlFest. The children had so much fun showing off their costumes, playing games, and running around the Quad. It was nice to see all of ECC, Lower School, and even some Middle School and Upper School students join in the fun!
How good it was to see so many parents on campus for conferences. There is no replacement for a face-to-face meeting with your child’s teacher to hear about both their challenges and their growth.
The students continue to bring in their Let Grow October homework projects. Surprisingly, there have been such an array of projects. This week one child learned to use the microwave to make popcorn, another babysat her little brother while her parents ran an errand, a boy learned knife skills and prepped food for dinner, someone used the stove, another walked the dog, another did laundry and one took her dirt bike out for a spin. The children are proud and happy to talk about their new found independence. They love feeling capable and able to contribute.
Have a good weekend,
Sarah Schecter
