Sarah Schecter, Head of Lower School
October 18, 2024
Dear Lower School Parents,
Since last week’s letter, I have become a grandmother. So, if I look a bit older at carpool, that’s why. Actually, I am very excited about this stage of life and am grateful to be in the Grandmother Club! At school, it has been such a fun week. The children loved all of the free dress days, decorations, and special activities. We also enjoyed our visiting author and the great fall weather. I hope to see all of you at the Homecoming Football game tonight!
Owlfest is next Thursday from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. It is fun to see all of the students dressed in their costumes for this fun time in the Quad. Since this is a whole school event with our youngest owl friends, please no scary costumes. Remember, we wear uniforms to school that day.
Several students have already completed their Let Grow homework for October. One student cleaned her whole house and reported feeling proud and happy. Another built a doll bed on her own; she had some frustration, but she ended up with a new toy she was proud of. Another student put together solar lights and decorated her front yard for Halloween. She was unsure at first but in the end was happy with the results. There is still plenty of time to complete this project, we look forward to seeing our students grow in independence each month.
Most of you have signed up for a parent conference, but if you haven’t, it’s not too late. Follow the link to your portal to schedule.
Happy Homecoming,
Sarah Schecter
