Dear Lower School Parents, 

This may have been my best first day of school ever, and I have had many, many first days of school. I give credit to you, parents, for having well prepared and sweet children and to our teachers for all of their creativity and planning. The only tears I saw were from a few sentimental parents, which is totally understandable.

Parent Night went well. Thank you for making it a priority. I know it is hard on day two to make the third trip to Oakridge! If you still have any questions, please contact the Lower School Office and we will try to help.

Carpool in the mornings is going well on the MAC porch. Keep in mind, you may arrive as early as 7:30 a.m. School begins at 7:50. At 8:00 a.m. the back doors are locked. If you arrive after the doors are locked, please continue around to the front of the school to unload.

Afternoon carpool will soon be quick and efficient. Once your child is loaded you may pull around and be on your way. Lower School dismissal is at 2:50 p.m. When carpool is over, remaining students will be taken to Owls’ Nest.  If you have questions regarding Owls’ Nest (extended care) please contact Marissa Cox. 

College colors day or college shirt day is next Thursday, August 29. It is always fun to see the many schools that are represented. I love that Oakridge encourages our youngest owls to begin thinking about their futures!

Lower School students enjoy attending P.E. every day. Please see a letter from their fabulous coaches here.

We are excited to announce that registration for our enrichment programs will open on Friday, August 30. These programs will begin during the second week of September, offering a variety of engaging and educational after school activities for students. Be sure to mark your calendars and secure a spot for your child as soon as registration becomes available!

In case you missed it, we have transitioned to a new, more streamlined parent portal system. In the parent portal you may access:

• All messages sent from the school

• Directory

• Billing and statements
