Sarah Schecter, Head of Lower School
May 26, 2023
Dear Lower School Parents,
We enjoyed our last week together. Our Day of Kindness was wonderful. Students made placemats for local retirement homes and Meals on Wheels, painted kindness rocks to distribute around our community, wrote letters to military personnel, made banners to honor local law enforcement, picked up trash, delivered treats around campus, crafted toys to donate to the animal shelter, wrote letters to loved ones, and generally spread joy. It was such a blessing to see them pour their hearts out in all of these kind ways.
First Grade’s Family Heritage Day was fun. We all learned so much about each other. The kids were impressive, the food was delicious, and it was a great opportunity to experience the beautiful diversity of our Oakridge community.
The Big Sale was a great success. We know you were thrilled to see the treasures your child brought home. Fourth grade raised over $1700.
The Clap Up was festive and ended the fourth graders’ time in Lower School with a flourish. Thank you for making the End of the Year Party such a success. It was nice to have so many parents attend and celebrate with us. Also, thank you for sending all of the snacks.
I hope you all have a restful and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend and super summer.
Warmest regards,
Sarah Schecter

Seesaw

Note: Oakridge maintains a Seesaw for Schools subscription which allows for the curation of portfolios for our students. Each year, student work from the previous year is dropped into a folder and is accessible for their time in Lower School. If you would like to download student work, click here and follow the instructions. If your child completed 4th grade or if your child is not returning to Oakridge for the 2023 - 2024 school year, be sure to download any work you want to save before June 30, 2023.
