Sarah Schecter, Head of Lower School

October 27, 2023

Dear Lower School Parents,

Owlfest was so much fun. Everyone enjoyed showing off their costumes, playing games, winning candy, and sampling the food truck fare. Of course, we all love being outside in the Quad, but we are so thankful our Parents’ Club was able to quickly move to the MAC when weather was an issue.

The Oakridge Food Drive is November 1 – 15. For many years, we have partnered with Mission Arlington to collect non-perishable food for our neighbors in need. Canned food, peanut butter, tuna and boxed macaroni and cheese are suggested items. Your child can shop in your own pantry or choose some items on your next trip to the grocery store. This is a good way to teach your child to think of others and to be reminded what a blessing it is to have plenty of food.

Lower School earned a pizza party for having 75% of families participate in giving to the Oakridge Fund. Our pizza party will take place during lunchtime on Tuesday, November 7.

Warm regards,

Sarah Schecter
