Dear Lower School Parents,

Tuesday in Parliament we talked briefly about the earthquake in Morocco. I told the children there are often things we can do to help others during hard times. Surprisingly, we have an Oakridge parent that is from Morocco, who is collecting supplies for the Moroccan people and delivering them this weekend. This was our opportunity to help. I asked anyone who could to bring a dollar or two to donate on Wednesday. I just wanted to keep it simple for whoever remembered, so I didn’t send a parent note or reminders. I am happy to report we collected over $200 and sent a big suitcase full of supplies! In fact, she could not have carried any more than what we supplied. I am thankful your children are generous and eager to help!

The children have been so patient with having our playground out of commission. In addition to the fallen limbs and trees, there were thousands of bees displaced. It has been sweet to see them in the quad jumping rope, playing foursquare, and generally making their own fun.
