Sarah Schecter, Head of Lower School
September 1, 2023
Dear Lower School Parents,
Our first full week of school was busy. We had our first Parliament on Tuesday. Parliament is when everyone in Lower School assembles to talk about important topics, like Citizenship and being our best selves. Tuesday we also enjoyed our first ice cream day in the lunchroom. We looked great for picture day on Thursday, and on Friday, we enjoyed wearing our college t-shirts.
This week I have included a Seesaw tip for anyone wanting to learn how to send a message to multiple teachers at once. We are excited that 99% of Lower School parents are connected to Seesaw. Thank you!
As a reminder, Lower School students are not allowed to share food. We have a number of children with allergies and food restrictions. We also have families who follow special diets. You are welcome to bring or buy cafeteria food for your child; please refrain from serving others.
At the top of this page, there is a picture of some of our fourth graders gathered around their favorite new playground piece, the Gaga pit. If you are not familiar with Gaga ball, ask your child to tell you all about it. Thank you to the Oakridge Parents’ Club and Wingstop for this exciting addition!\
It is hard to get back into a schedule, but things are going well because of your efforts. We appreciate your diligence and spirit. Enjoy the long weekend.
Sincerely,
Sarah Schecter
