Sarah Schecter, Head of Lower School

August 25, 2023

Dear Lower School Parents,

It has been a smooth and successful start. We are so glad to have the halls filled with excitement and laughter again. The children are happy to be back together. The first graders are learning their way around and keeping all of us smiling with their observations and perspective.

Carpool is going well. Remember, Lower School’s day begins at 7:50 a.m. If you arrive after 8:00 the MAC porch doors will most likely be locked. In that case, please proceed to the front of the school by the flagpoles for entry.

We had over 90% attend Parent Night on Thursday. Thank you for making that a priority. Hopefully you learned some valuable things and met some new friends. If you still have questions, contact your teacher or the Lower School office.

A couple of enriching after school opportunities for Lower School students are Musical Theatre and Art. Musical Theatre Class for third and fourth grade students will be held on Thursdays from 2:55 – 4:00 p.m. This program offers students an opportunity to perform quality music from the Broadway stage, films, and children’s musicals. No audition is necessary. Classes will present a full-scale staged show in December and May. Enrollment is for the full year, September 7  - May 16. The class is limited to 25 students and the cost is $500. Please click the link to register.

After School Art offers visual arts for students in first through fourth grades. Students will experience a variety of media in a studio setting, including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and ceramics. Join the fun for this extra visual arts experience, September 5 - May 16, on either Tuesdays or Thursdays from 2:55 - 4:00 p.m.  Each class is limited to 20 students and the cost is $500. Please follow the link to register.

We are so thankful you decided to share your children with us. We look forward to a productive and joyful year together.

Enjoy your weekend,

Sarah Schecter
