Sarah Schecter, Head of Lower School
March 29, 2024
Dear Lower School Parents,
Our fourth grade students have been thoughtfully planning the arrival of our baby chicks. We have watched and waited for the eggs to hatch for 21 days. In the Idea Lab with Mrs. Carfa, fourth grade students have constructed all manner of entertainment and comfort stations for the new arrivals. The display cabinet outside the office is now a thriving chick village. It is always fun to see how the chicks respond to the fourth grade creations. It is an exciting time to be a Lower School student!
On Eclipse Day, April 8, all Lower School students will be provided with special-purpose solar filter glasses to provide eye protection. According to NASA, the partial eclipse will begin at 12:20 p.m. in DFW, with totality occurring from 1:40-1:44 p.m. The partial eclipse will end by 3:00 p.m. Each student will be given glasses to wear as they go outside to experience this historic event.
Next week we are looking forward to our Boosterthon Fun Run on Friday. Students may wear their fastest clothes for this fun event. The third and fourth grade run is from 10-11 a.m., and the first and second grade run is from 12:45-1:45 p.m. Parents are welcome to attend.
Most students have had their Diffendoofer Day topics approved. Remember, all work for this presentation is completed at home.
Kind regards,
Sarah Schecter
