Sarah Schecter, Head of Lower School

March 8, 2024

Dear Lower School Parents,

Day on the Plains was so much fun. The children had a great time in the Star Lab, jumping the river, touring the tipi, and roasting marshmallows around the campfire. It was a busy day on our campus, as we also celebrated Founder’s Day. Many of the people who were inspired to start a “little school in Arlington” were on hand to celebrate our 45th birthday. The Oakridge School has far surpassed what they imagined all those years ago.

Our Boosterthon fundraiser begins March 27, and the fun run is April 5. The program provides a daily lesson focusing on fitness, teamwork and character development. Last year's fun run was a lively and delightful time of students and teachers dancing, running and skipping 30-35 laps to the tune of cheering and music.

Diffendoofer Day is Lower School's once a year day when students teach their classmates. Over Spring Break start brainstorming topics your child might enjoy.

Have a fun Spring Break,

Sarah Schecter

It is not too early to start thinking about your child’s summer plans. “Summer at the Ridge” offerings are live and ready for enrollment.
