Dear Families,
This week, ECC students have been reflecting on our Thanksgiving holiday spent “embracing” loved ones. Having the time to exchange hugs, warm greetings, and various acts of kindness was truly a cherished gift. We continue to practice how we can “embrace each other” by accepting each other for who we are.
On Tuesday, the Kindergarten students enjoyed taking a Field Trip to the Arboretum. The students bundled up and loved traveling through the Christmas Village, running around on a beautiful hilltop overlooking the lake, eating lunch as a group and of course, visiting the 12 Days of Christmas. On Wednesday, they traveled to the Oakridge Library to hear from the New York Times Bestseller, Chris Barton. Author Chris Barton inspired our students to be writers themselves. “Don’t just write about what you know and love, write about what you would love to learn,” Mr. Barton shared.
Holiday Treasures, December 4 - 8: As we look ahead to next week, please be sure to take notice of Holiday Treasures. Holiday Treasure forms were sent home in student’s backpacks this week. We ask that you return them on or before the day that your child is scheduled to go shopping.
What is Holiday Treasures? The OPC shares the following information about Holiday Treasures: The Holiday Treasures Gift Shop is an annual gift shop that provides an opportunity for ECC, Lower School, and Lower House Middle School students to “shop” for holiday gifts for family and friends.
Winter Parties: On December 15 at 10:30 a.m., in conjunction with our families, we will be hosting the ECC Winter Parties. Parents, we thank you in advance for your time and commitment put into making these parties a success for all to enjoy. Class party information (party sign up and teacher gift) was sent out by the room parent in each room. Contact Mrs. McGee should you need further assistance.
Warm Regards,
