Dear Families,

At The Oakridge School, our mission is “to inspire students to seek their full potential in academics, the arts, and athletics in a challenging and nurturing environment that cultivates social responsibility, MUTUAL RESPECT, and personal integrity.” This week at the ECC, we focused on the ending of our mission statement that discusses respect. We show respect through our actions, our words, and our manners. We can hold the door open for a friend and use respectful language such as, “yes ma’am or no ma’am.” We can show respect on an athletic field by telling our opponents “good game,” whether we win or lose. We enjoyed wearing Ranger gear to school on Wednesday to show respect to our hometown team. 

Fall/Winter Outerwear Reminder:

Cooler temperatures often bring the need for sweaters and jackets. As the temperature changes, we encourage each child to bring outerwear daily as we spend a good amount of our day exploring outside, whether during recess, a brain break, a nature walk, or an outdoor lesson. It is imperative to write your child’s name on the outerwear sent to school. Additionally, both boys and girls are welcome to wear blue pants. Shoes must be closed-toed, preferably tennis shoes, and boots are not allowed. The uniform allows girls to wear solid navy blue, black, or white tights. Non-Oakridge outerwear and/or scarves/gloves may only be worn outdoors.
