Dear Parents,
Our thought of the week this week focused around kindness. Students have been using kind tones in their voices, inviting friends to play with them and join in on the fun, and even taking part in acts of service such as picking up trash around campus. Our building is full of kind, young children and we are so proud of them.
October and November tend to be busy months in the ECC. Below, you will find further information on our upcoming events.
October 20: OPC Uniform Resale: If your child has outgrown his/her uniforms, this is a great opportunity to purchase gently used uniforms at a discounted price.
October 20: School-wide Pink Out Day: Students may wear any pink shirt with non-uniform shorts, skirts or pants (tennis shoes please), or you may purchase a Pink Out shirt from our school spirit store.
October 25: Owlfest, 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. - Wear Halloween Costumes! - For over 35 years, Owlfest has been a campus tradition that brings our youngest owls and their families together for a fantastic afternoon of fun. Kids in costumes, games, and adventures await, while parents can catch up with old friends and make new ones. Food trucks galore for tasty bites, and don't forget to unleash your creativity in our pumpkin decorating contest! Stay tuned for more details coming from our OPC.
October 27: Parent-Teacher Conferences - NO SCHOOL - If they have not already, teachers will be sending out links to sign up for your parent-teacher conferences. Please make this a priority as it is a wonderful opportunity for you to continue to partner with the school.
November 7: ECC 1st Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. - I encourage you to prioritize this event. We will dig deeper into the ECC schedule, answer any questions you may have, and discuss ways that you as a parent can best support the development of your ECC child. This is also a time where you can meet and connect with other ECC parents.
November 8 and 9: ECC Fall Showcases - Coach T has been working hard to further develop our Preschool - Kindergarten students’ music skills. At our Fall Showcases, Coach T will lead our classes through different songs that showcase rhythm, singing voices and performance skills. Parents and loved ones are invited to join and be in the audience.
Sincerely,
Ashley Read, Oakridge Class of 2005
