Ashley Read '05, Head of Early Childhood
August 25, 2023
Dear Families,
Thank you for a wonderful start to the 2023 - 2024 school year. The first three days have been absolutely fantastic! I have noticed that some of the initially hesitant children have quickly opened up, and now we see laughter and smiles all around. Thank you for your support at home.
Our mission statement reads, “To inspire students to seek their full potential in academics, the arts, and athletics in a challenging and nurturing environment that cultivates social responsibility, mutual respect, and personal integrity.” Leading up to the first day of school, I was in awe as I witnessed the amazing team pictured above work together to create classrooms, allowing space for our students to be nurtured and challenged. Their inclusive classrooms create space for our students to feel seen, valued, and heard. These ladies represent moms, grandmothers, workout instructors, field hockey coaches, world travelers, incredible chefs, and the most qualified Early Childhood Educators. It is impressive to think that our team of 17 educators are entering the 2023 school year with over 290 years of combined teaching experience. Our school is blessed to have each and every one of these dedicated educators as part of our Oakridge Family, as they will be an integral part of helping shape your little ones into confident, successful leaders.
Parent Information Night on Monday, August 21, was a huge success! We know that spending time away from your children is a sacrifice, but we thank you for prioritizing the event to ensure the school year starts positively. Together, we can make this a remarkable year for your child.
