Over the past week students have been practicing the many ways that we can “care for each other.” Students pretended to “pull their cape” over their mouths when they needed to cough as a way to care for each other. We paid extra attention to cleaning up our areas and leaving spaces better than we found them. 

Monday was a memorable experience for all as we witnessed the solar eclipse. Students gathered in the Big Room to learn more details about solar eclipses and watched a livestream as totality fell upon us. The Big Room fell dark quickly then back to light. The students were amazed that darkness occurred during the day time. 

On Wednesday, students enjoyed a visit from the River Legacy Outreach Program. Our visitors included snakes, turtles, ferrets and a lesser tenrec. We were amazed that ferrets sleep 18 hours per day and that turtles often eat mice. A big thank you to Esterra (PK), Adam (K) and the Jackson Family for gifting us this hands-on experience. 

Kindergarten Families: Friendly reminder that on Monday, April 15, the Kindergarteners will take a Field Trip to the Fort Worth Zoo. Students are to be in uniforms. Additionally, please ensure that you read the Walk to the Future email. Remember to R.S.V.P. to Mrs. McGee before April 17. Include your name, child’s name and a headcount for lunch.
