Dear Families,
This week we have been focusing on trying to do the right thing, but also knowing that even when we do our best, sometimes mistakes happen. As Jennifer Lim stated, “Mistakes are proof that you are trying.” We would always rather try something new, even if it is scary, and fail rather than not try at all. We have been repeating, “The more we practice, the better we get!”
Book options:
Caramba by Marie-Louisa Gay
Beatrice Doesnt Want to by Laura Numeroff
Always in Trouble by Corinne Demas
The Very Ugly Bug by Liz Pichon
Trike-A-Thon is NEXT WEEK and you are invited to join! On October 10, the ECC will partner with St. Jude for our annual Trike-A-Thon. Students are asked to bring a riding toy and a helmet to school on October 10. If you do not own a riding toy (scooter, tricycle, bicycle) contact the ECC office and we will get one for your child. Please consider donating to this great cause; no amount is too small! You can email the link (or flyer below) to family, or even post on social media. This special event is truly one of my favorite memories throughout the year. We hope you can join us!
What is happening around campus?
Join OPC! What is the OPC?
The OPC is The Oakridge Parents’ Club or Oakridge’s version of a “PTA.” Our OPC consists of Oakridge parents and grandparents who donate their time to events around campus such as our Fall Festival (“Owlfest”), Teacher Appreciation lunches, the Book Fair and much more. Please consider joining. If you join at the $75 level, your child(ren) will receive a non-uniform dress day.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Best regards,
Ashley Read, Oakridge Class of 2005
