Dear Families,

This week, we're learning more about showing respect by raising our hands when we want to join the conversation or ask a question. Raising your hand is like a magic wand that helps us all learn together! Waiting patiently for our turn shows we're ready to share our thoughts, ask a question, and listen to our friends. It makes our classroom a happy place where everyone feels important and respected. We know patience can be challenging for little ones, so we practice it daily!

Books to read:

Interrupting Chicken by David Ezra Stein
Ivan the Terrier by Peter Catalanotto
Ruby Sings the Blues by Niki Daly
Babushka's Doll by Patricia Polacco

Trike-A-Thon: From October 7, the ECC will be partnering with St. Jude for our annual Trike-A-Thon. This event is not just about fun, but also about teaching our students the value of helping others. Please see the flyer below for more information about Trike-A-Thon. Please note, students are asked to bring a riding toy and a helmet to school on October 10. This is a special event and truly one of my favorite memories throughout the year. We hope you can join us and be part of this meaningful experience!

What is happening around campus?

Oakridge Flu Shot & Vaccination Clinic

Our flu and vaccination clinic is scheduled for next week, Wednesday, September 25, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. in the FAPH foyer. This is open to Faculty, Staff, Students, & Families. Please be sure to bring your ID and insurance cards.  More details can be found here. Contact Nurse Kim for questions: (817) 451-4994 x2714

Join OPC! What is the OPC?

The OPC is The Oakridge Parents’ Clubb, or Oakridge’s version of a “PTA.” Our OPC consists of Oakridge parents and grandparents who donate their time to events around campus such as our Fall Festival (“Owlfest”), Teacher Appreciation lunches, the Book Fair and much more. Please consider joining. If you join at the $75 level, your child(ren) will receive a non-uniform dress day.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Best regards,
