Dear Families,

Brrrr! Although it has been a chilly start to 2025, we sure were happy to have our ECC friends back with us, even if it was for less days than we expected! As we jumped into the second semester, I couldn’t help but marvel at how much our young children have grown, both physically and emotionally. It seems just yesterday that the Preschoolers were timid and unfamiliar with their surroundings. Now, they stand tall and confident in the Big Room during morning announcements. Their height and maturity have blossomed, and it's truly a joy to witness. 

Our thought of the week this week is, “Our differences make us special.” All people look and act in different ways. Some people are tall; others are short. Some people have dark eyes; others have light. Every person is different. That means every person is special. Our differences make us special. Differences can make a person feel good or not so good. At Oakridge, we celebrate differences, so we use our words and our actions to help people feel good about how they are different. 

“Preview Day,” January 14: On January 14, we have a special day, “Preview Day,” for our ECC students to get a sneak peek at the next grade level. If possible, try to avoid appointments or missing school on Tuesday, January 14 from 8:15 – 9:15 a.m. We hope none of our students will miss this opportunity to get excited about next school year! Please note, this is a student-only event and always an exciting day for our students.

As you look ahead to the spring schedule, please be sure to add the spring events to your schedule. An ECC calendar has been added below.
