Dear Oakridge Family,
As we enter the new school year, I want to highlight the incredible role that our student-athletes play in the life of The Oakridge School. Athletics is an essential part of our educational experience, teaching our students not just about competition but also about teamwork, perseverance, and leadership. Our mission, which guides us as we make crucial decisions, calls us to inspire our students to seek their full potential in academics, the arts, and athletics.
Being a student-athlete requires commitment, discipline, and resilience. These young men and women balance their academic responsibilities with the demands of training, competition, and teamwork. They learn valuable life skills that go beyond the field or court—skills that will serve them well in all aspects of life.
As we set sail on our athletic endeavors this season, I encourage you to join us to support our teams, connect with fellow parents, and take pride in the accomplishments of our student-athletes. These events are a testament to the strength of our Oakridge community and the powerful role that athletics plays in shaping our students' lives. I encourage you to join us, not just to support our students but to be part of something bigger—the Oakridge family. Your presence means so much to our students and to the fabric of our school. It’s a chance to show our children what it means to be part of a community that values teamwork, school spirit, and the joy of coming together.
Thank you for your continued support of our student-athletes and for being a vital part of the Oakridge family. I look forward to seeing you at the games, where we can celebrate the spirit and achievements of our incredible students together.
With gratitude and excitement for the season ahead,
Matt Burgy
