October 3, 2025

Greetings, Middle School Families,

Homecoming 2025 is one for the books! The dress-up themed days, parade, and pep rally, embodied the dynamic spirit of Oakridge!

The week started with Dean’s Day and Mickey and Minnie Day! Red, white, and polka dots were everywhere and the quad was filled with music as students ate cotton candy, played four square, volleyball, jenga, and enjoyed a dance party in the hallway. On Tuesday, there were some questionable fashion choices from our Giddy Globetrotters.  It was a sight to see; Hawaiian shirts, fanny packs, cameras, tube socks, and even floaties. The kids nailed it with this tacky theme! Wednesday scored major points as  students sported their favorite teams, and Thursday was beyond out of this world with students dressed in stellar space themed attire.

The Homecoming Grand Finale included students from ECC to Upper School pepping up our football team at the parade and pep rally. We are looking forward to continuing the celebration tonight at 7 pm as our Oakridge Owls take on St. Andrews. Please come out and enjoy the festivities. It is sure to be a memorable event you don’t want to miss!

On October 31st, we invite you to our Parent/Teacher Conferences.  The link to sign up for these conferences will be live on your MyOakridge Portal Monday, October 6th. The deadline to register for conference times is no later than 3pm on Thursday, October 30th. Additionally, if any changes are needing to be made, you may update your appointment time in the portal.  There will not be school for students this day, so that teachers have the necessary time to meet with parents. Parents can also request a conference anytime throughout the year by emailing teachers directly or calling the Middle School Office.

Over 175 private, parochial, and home schools (grades 1–8) across Texas compete annually in the PSIA academic contests. These contests are designed to motivate students to achieve a higher mastery of subjects, reignite their passion for learning, and receive recognition for their academic excellence. There are several categories in which students may compete which include Oral Interpretation; Maps, graphs, and charts; Mathematics; Number sense; On site drawing; Science, Spelling, and more. There will be a PSIA interest meeting for students on Wednesday, October 15 during Advisory.

The 1.2 Progress Report is now available on your “My Oakridge” parent portal.. This document can be accessed and viewed under Classes and Reports. If you need assistance accessing your portal, please email technology@theoakridgeschool.org.
