Greetings Middle School Families,

This Wednesday, 6th Grade Intermediate Writing students visited the ECC to share picture books with the preschool and pre-k students. These amazing scholars spent about a month crafting stories that are interesting, age appropriate, and contained a strong theme. The students went through the entire book drafting process, from initial outlining, storyboarding, drafting and illustration, learning along the way from mentor texts like Jabari Jumps by Gaia Cornwell and A Bad Case of Stripes by David Shannon.

They all had such a great time creating these books, and were so proud to share their hard work with an authentic audience. These original storybooks will become part of the ECC library, so that students can read and enjoy these stories for a lifetime!
