Matt Burgy, Head of School

Hello Oakridge Families,
Today I am handing over my message to Kellen Lewis, our Director of College Advising. Please see Kellen’s message below!
Matt Burgy
Head of School
One of the great strengths of an Oakridge education is the way we guide students not only through their academic journey, but also through the important transition from high school to what comes next. Our College Advising program is a powerful example of this work: thoughtful, student-centered, and deeply rooted in helping each student discover the best possible fit for their future.
Next week, I hope you will join us for College Colloquium, College Advising’s signature annual event. This special evening offers our community a rare opportunity to hear directly from senior leaders in college admissions and to gain insight into today’s rapidly evolving college landscape. We are honored to welcome vice presidents and deans of admission from the University of Southern California, Trinity University, and The Ohio State University to campus for an evening of conversation, perspective, and connection.
The program will include a panel discussion and breakout sessions designed to help families better understand how colleges evaluate applicants today, how the process has changed over time, and how students can approach their college search with confidence and intention.

College Colloquium reflects the heart of our College Advising philosophy: clarity over confusion, fit over prestige alone, and true partnership with families every step of the way. Oakridge College Advising exemplifies our mission by meeting each student where they are and guiding them along their unique path.
I am deeply grateful to our Oakridge Parents' Club for their generous support in making this meaningful program possible, and to our College Advising team for the care and expertise they bring to our students each day.
All parents and students are encouraged to attend, and I hope to see many of you there for an evening that reflects the strength of our community and our shared commitment to student growth.
