Dr. Amy Alsip, Head of Upper School

February 6, 2026

Upper School Families,
As we enter into this first marking period of the new semester, I am reminded of a quote from Coco that says “Success doesn’t come for free. You have to do whatever it takes to seize your moment.” We hope this fresh start to the semester allows students to seize this opportunity to set new academic goals and put a plan into action to reach those goals.

College Colloquium—Now Virtual
College Colloquium, Oakridge College Advising’s signature event, has been rescheduled and will now take place virtually on Wednesday, February 25, at 7:00 PM. This program offers families and students a rare opportunity to hear directly from senior college admission leaders about today’s evolving admission landscape. Whether your student is just beginning the college journey or actively preparing applications, this evening will provide clarity, insight, and confidence. Registration details coming soon. We hope you’ll join us!
We are so excited for “The Northern Lights” Winter Formal tomorrow February 7th at Fort Works Art. We still need students to attend as we have poured valuable resources into making this event special for the students and that is offset by ticket sales.
Students who plan to bring a non-Oakridge guest need to pick up the forms from the US office and complete those prior to the dance. Tickets for Winfo are on sale as of today on the portal and are $25 per person online or $30 cash at the door. Light snacks and refreshments will be served and DJ Rob will be joining us again for entertainment. Any students in attendance will receive house points and a free dress day! Students will not be allowed to leave the dance until 8:45 p.m. unless we have prior permission from a parent.

Have a great weekend!
All my best,
Dr. Amy Alsip
Head of Upper School
