Dear Families,
Whether you are trunk-or-treating at the Oakridge Varsity Football game tonight or traveling around your neighborhood, we hope you have a fun and safe Halloween filled with delightful trick-or-treating adventures.
This week, students have been practicing using kind words and allowing their brains to serve as a filter. Just because we think something doesn’t mean we should say it. Words are powerful. When we say something to someone, the words can make a person’s heart feel happy or sad.
Book Options:
- Stand Tall, Molly Lou Melon by Patty Lovell
- The Recess Queen by Alexis O’Neill
- Being Frank by Donna W. Earnhardt
- Words and Your Heart by Kate Jane Neal
Owlfest: What a blast we had at Owlfest! It was so much fun to see our students dressed in their costumes and enjoying all the activities. We want to thank the OPC for hosting such a fabulous event and are so grateful for their partnership in creating such wonderful memories for our school community.
Parent Conferences: Parents, thank you for making it a priority to meet with your child’s teacher this week. The teachers enjoyed the opportunity to share your child's strengths as well as discuss growth opportunities. We value these days as it provides time for the partnership between school and home to grow.
NEXT WEEK - ECC Fall Showcases: We hope that you and your families are able to join us at our annual Fall Showcases. Our Music and Movement teachers, Coach C and Coach T, have been working diligently alongside our students to prepare for the shows. The shows take place in the ECC Big Room and last for about 20-30 minutes. Students are to wear their school uniforms.

Warm regards,
Ashley Read, Oakridge Class of 2005
