May 15, 2026

Dear Parents,

This week, our Thought of the Week focused on how we use our own brain to make good choices. Every day we have to make choices. Sometimes we make easy choices, like what we want for breakfast, and other times we have to make difficult choices, like wanting to stay in bed when we need to go to school. When we make good choices, good things can happen, and we have happy hearts. Ultimately, we each have a brain and the power to make our own choices.

Book Options:

  • Hey Little Ant by Phillip and Hannah Hoose
  • Ruby the Copycat by Margaret Rathmann
  • Pig Pig Grows Up by David McPhail
  • Carla’s Sandwich by Debbie Herman

Next week is the last week of school:

The last week of school is always a bittersweet time for educators. We are so incredibly proud of the progress and growth we have seen in each of our students, and we know they are headed on a journey toward greatness. However, after having them as such a significant part of our lives for several months, it is always hard to let them go. Thank you for choosing Oakridge.
