Hello Families,
This week, our thought of the week focused on how “we take care of our community.” When people do things together and take care of each other, they become part of a community. Communities are like families. Our school and class are both examples of communities. We call people in communities citizens. As citizens of our school, we work together to care for our community like we would a family.
Earth Day:
Wednesday, we celebrated Earth Day at the ECC in a meaningful way!
Pre-K student, Vihaan, inspired us all by creating a project using recycled materials to remind us of the importance of recycling and reducing pollution to help save our planet. He even took the stage during morning announcements to share his message with the entire ECC—putting our school-wide focus on public speaking into action!
We’re proud of our young leaders making a big impact.

Boosterthon and Fun Run:
Over the past week, our Oakridge community rallied together to raise money for our annual Boosterthon event. It was fun to watch our ECC students enjoy the Fun Run and cheer each other on as they ran laps. A big thank you to all of our volunteers who ensured this event ran smoothly. We are truly blessed by our parent community.
Friday, May 8: ECC and LS Field Day and Fine Arts Night:
Be sure you have marked your calendars for May 8. It is a busy day on the Oakridge campus. In the morning, the ECC and LS will take part in Field Day events. That evening, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., we hope you will join us for the all school Fine Arts Night. You can see our artists in action. Gorgeous art projects will line the hallways, actors will take center stage, and our choir will perform. Bring your family and friends.

Next week - Kindergarten Walk to the Future:
Kindergarten parents, we are excited to celebrate our annual Kindergarten Walk to the Future on Wednesday, April 29. This event will take place on Wednesday, April 29, rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, an updated plan will be sent out via Remind.
