Dear ECC Families,
We hope you and your family had a warm and restful time during the recent winter storm, even though it made for a short week of school. We trust this unexpected break provided an opportunity for some fun, whether it was building a snowman, going sledding, or gathering inside for some cozy board games. We are grateful to have everyone safely back on campus for the past two days and look forward to a full week ahead.
January 26 - 30: Oakridge Book Fair:
We are grateful to Mrs. DeWinter and the OPC Book Fair Volunteers for all the time, energy, and flexibility that went into delivering a wonderful “Bibliosauruses” experience for our students. Due to the weather, we had to pivot and adjust our schedules. Preschool visited this week, and Pre-K and Kindergarten will visit next week. You are invited to join the Book Fair and shop, too!
Check out the OPC Book Fair website!

STEM Showcase and All-School College T-Shirt/Sweatshirt Day
Friday was a busy day at Oakridge. Students showed off support for a variety of colleges and universities, and the Middle School students put on a wonderful STEM Showcase in the Student Activity Center.
February 4: 1st Wednesday @ 8:15 a.m.
I am excited to invite you to join us at our monthly ECC 1st Wednesday chat. On February 4, we will host a special guest, Joanne Franks, PhD, LPC-S, from Painted Reality Counseling, who will speak to us about Sibling Relationships and Friendships in the early childhood setting. Lower School families are invited and welcome to join.
February 11: Guest Author Visit
We are thrilled to announce that beloved children's author, Jerry Pallotta, will be visiting The Oakridge School on February 11.
Mr. Pallotta will present to students in Kindergarten through fifth grade. He is a favorite among our students, and his popular Who Would Win series is always in high circulation at the Oakridge Library! Jerry Pallotta has been writing children's books for over 30 years and has published over 90 titles.
Students may have any of Jerry Pallotta's books autographed. To ensure this, please send the books to the Oakridge Library by February 9. Please affix a note to each book with your child’s full name and teacher's name. This will help us ensure the autographed books are returned to the correct students. If you have any questions, please contact Patricia deWinter at pdewinter@theoakridgeschool.org.
Warm regards,
Ashley Read, Oakridge Class of 2005
