Minimum Enrollment: It is necessary to have at least five (5) full-time students paid in full for a Readiness Workshop class to take place.
Payment: All programs must be paid in full before the first day of the program. Otherwise, the participant can not participate in the program until paid in full.
Age Range: Summer Days Readiness Workshops are designed for children entering grades 5-8. Oakridge students and non-Oakridge children are welcome to participate.
Attendance: Summer Programs at Oakridge are open to students from any school. Refunds and prorated fees are not made if a child is absent during the week they are registered for a Summer Days course. No refund will be given for an enrolled student that does not show up for a Summer Days class without communication before class begins.
Classroom materials: All classroom materials will be provided.
Conduct: All Summer Programs participants are expected to behave in an honorable, trustworthy, and respectful manner and speech at all times. Participants will be respectful of persons in authority and the rights of others, and exercise proper care in the use of materials and equipment. Inappropriate behavior or conduct not in accordance with these expectations can jeopardize a participant's privilege of attending Summer Programs at Oakridge.
Sack lunch / Snack: Students are welcome to bring their own lunch (if applicable) and snack. Food and drinks are not available for purchase.
Student drop-off/pick-up: On Monday, a registration check-in area will be located in the Lower School building. We request that parents walk their students inside the building on the first day. Drop-off and pick-up after that can be at the front of school.
What to wear: The dress code for Summer Days is casual, but conservative. We want students to be comfortable and relaxed while still providing a productive learning environment.

The Math Department would like to invite students to gear up for a new school year by practicing computation and critical reasoning. This course will meet for two hours each day Monday-Friday and is intended to review and develop math skills needed for success and confidence. Lower house students will practice all operations with decimals and fractions in conjunction with applying the order of operations. They will also be introduced to concepts of number theory, equation solving, and measurement.
Gr. 5-6 Writing Workshop

Join the English Department as we brush off our writing skills and get ready for the new school year! This course meets two hours each day Monday-Friday and is designed for incoming 5th and 6th graders who want to improve their writing and become more familiar with the key features of The Oakridge School’s writing curriculum. We will spend the week reviewing key writing skills, applying these skills, and learning strategies to utilize these skills in future writing assignments. All students will receive a resource booklet to use during the class and as a writing reference during the school year.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Grade Level Readiness Workshops are designed to provide extra help and reinforce crucial skills to prepare students for the grade they are entering in the fall. Students will review and maintain skills learned during the previous school year as students are also given a “sneak peek” into the next grade level. The curricular emphasis in each of these workshops is to focus on individual skill development and learning strategies unique to each grade level.

Summer Musical Theatre Description:
"Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" has come to Oakridge for our Summer Musical Theatre Camp! Actors will enjoy this week-long camp as we work to produce this musical with their school friends and perform it on the Oakridge stage Friday evening for family and friends. The cost is $350, class is limited to 30 students, registration deadline is June 2, 2022, and actors must attend every day for the success of the Friday night show at 7 p.m.
