Summer Camp Info

Week 1: June 4-8

Animal Safari
Join us on a one week safari full of exciting encounters with animals from across the globe. Our Animal Safari will include visits and experiences that will teach us about animal behaviors and habitats. Campers will meet animals at the watering hole, some in cages, and some from afar! We’ll enjoy a visit from the Critterman, participate in Animal Olympics, enjoy a tribal feast, and much more!

 

Week 2: June 11-15

Summer Camp Mystery
Get a clue? Grab your spy gear and get ready for a week of mystery. Campers will become world class detectives investigating their very own case. The detectives will collect evidence and work to find solutions to the unknown. Each day will reveal the secrets behind the week’s mystery. We will use our keen skills as we explore local museums and meet special guests with clues to help solve the case.

 

Week 3: June 18-22

The Wonderful World of Science
Grab your lab coat and strap on your goggles for this week of science discovery. We’ll become patrons of science when we visit the SCIENCE PLACE , and enjoy a visit from “Mad Science” as well as our own “Wizards of Science”. On Science Day, campers will have the opportunity to present and prove some of their own theories. During the week we will also enjoy the magic of science when we see the Summer In The Oaks Chemistry class magic show! 

 

Week 4: June 25-29 

Operation Inventor
Here’s your chance to meet the world’s most famous inventors as we explore the history of invention. We’ll visit some exceptional museums in the metroplex that house unique creations as well as hear from local inventors. We’ll have our own Science Fair when campers get things “cranking” on Inventor’s Day! Will you be the Camp’s greatest inventor? 

 

Week 5: July 2-6

Discover America
AHOY! Whether they were pirates or great navigators, the world’s greatest explorers will come alive this week! Campers will delve into the adventures of brave and daring men and women who changed the course of history. Get your costume ready for the great explorer’s trivia day and scavenger hunt. This exciting week will also feature an old fashioned, All-American Picnic and Parade. 

 

Week 6: July 9 – 13

An Ancient Voyage
Follow Marco Polo as he journeys across the globe. Campers will use maps and the help from special guests as they travel the Silk Road . A visit to the Japanese Gardens and an encounter with the great Baba will complete the training of young explorers. We will enjoy a special drama production and our own camp talent show. The week offers intrigue just like the adventures of the Polo brothers. At the end of the week we’ll return to Venice for a taste of Italy ! 

 

Week 7: July 16 – 20

A Space Odyssey
10 – 9 – 8 – 7 – 6 – 5 – 4 – 3 – 2 – 1 - Blast-off! Get ready for an out-of-this-world journey as we learn about space exploration and the people who have made it possible. We’ll visit the Planetarium and the Oakridge Star Lab, build a rocket, create a galaxy and do some great space experiments. Astronaut Day will allow all of our young space cadets the chance to show they have the right stuff.  

 

Week 8: July 23 - 27

Dinosaur Daze
Get your shovels and picks ready for a great dig. This expedition of a life-time will lead campers to some of the world’s greatest archaeological finds. Our young archaeologists will journey to Dinosaur Valley , participate in a dino-dig, and enjoy a visit from a caveman!   Whether it is uncovering Stonehenge , dinosaur bones, or ancient cave drawings, campers will solve the mystery of how artifacts tell us about past civilizations.

 

Week 9:

July 30 - August 3

Underwater Adventure
Dive into some fun with explorations of the sea floor and other deep sea discoveries. Campers jump right in this week with fun activities on an ocean discovery cruise. A visit to the Dallas World Aquarium and encounters with special guests with sea creatures will make a big splash. Each day will be full of fun experiments and activities to spark the minds of our young oceanographers.
