The Oakridge Equestrian Western team is going to the Nationals in June! This means that during the summer they will be riding for national recognition and for a lot of prize and scholarship monies against other riders and teams from all over the USA. 

This weekends’ shows were the final shows for our competitive region before the nationals, and the Oakridge Equestrian team was the high point team twice! That means that Oakridge riders will now be representing ALL of the IEA western teams from the Zone 7 competition region: this includes Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma. They will ride this summer during an international western riding competition called the NRHA Derby at the end of June in Oklahoma City. This is a tremendous achievement and honor to have reached during our first year of existence as a team. 

As individual riders during the regular season classes Kelsey Karanges won 2 first places; Jillian Bradley won 2 thirds; Cailey Cobb won 2 fifths; and Kendra Lenz won a third. 

In the post season zone finals classes the Owl riders were just as awesome! Kelsey, Jillian, and Kendra got first in all of their classes; so, that means Oakridge has 3 riders who also qualified as individuals for the big national event. 

The equestrian team has achieved many, many great things in this inaugural year of competition. Please congratulate all of our Owl riders, both English and Western, for their success.

Please join us for the Oakridge School's Fine Arts Night on Tuesday, May 7th from 5:30 to 8:00 PM in the John P. Flavin Fine Arts Center. The evening will showcase our talented students via Art, Choir, Drama, Musical Theatre, Orchestra, and Strings. Refreshments will be served, and this is a come and go event. The agenda for the evening will be posted throughout the facility.  All are welcome, as this is a family centered occasion!
